Especially if they keep them so busy attending meetings, going in field service, trying to earn a living with no education, etc. that they feel so overwhelmed and depressed that the LAST thing they want to do is research a bibliography.

their invite to check the bibliography
by booby insince i spent a bit of time looking up this info i shamelessly copied from another thread for a new post here to get thoughts on how goofy their bibliography is.
how many jw's would take the time, if they even take the time to read the brochure, to check out these references in the bibliography.. how fast can a cell reproduce?
on page 11 includes reference 16 to bibliography.. that book can be found here http://www.scribd.com/doc/26545498/brain-matters-translating-research-into-classroom-practice.

The JW "We don't live for dates" argument
by sabastious ini have ran into this a few times lately.
there is so much wrong with this statement, but i want to just focus on the points that have the highest chance of setting into the jw's mind.. .
what first comes to mind is the fact that jw's have been peddling the "end of the world" being right around the corning for over 100 years.... .

There is no burning hell
There is no trinity
I'll give em those...
I do not give them even those Undercover. Jews and Muslims have never believed in a trinity, and the Sufi Muslims have never believed in a burning hell; neither do Reformed Jews.
As Wobble commented, every doctrine that is unique to them has been proven wrong...by their own admission...

Correct me if I am wrong. What this country needs is for there to be more spending not less.
GDP= C (consumption) + I (investment) + G (government spending) + ( X (exports) - M (imports)).
GDP = C + I + G + (X-M)
If C is down, and I is down, and (X-M) is down (which they all are) then the only way to increase GDP is to increase G...government spending.
If G is increased, by say extending unemployment benefits, then that translates directly into increased C (food/clothing/shelter).

The stock market could very easily take another big dive like 08'. Good luck.
Hhmmm...sounds like a sale! I made a substantial amount of money in the 2008 demise by picking up undervalued stocks. ...bought $4,000 in Amazon.com for around $50.00 a share...and that was just one stock.

God is not a good Samaritan
by peacedog ini don't start threads very often, but yesterday i had something of an epiphany as i was doing some work in the yard.
deep in thought, as i usually am when doing mundane tasks, it occurred to me that while jesus encouraged us to be "good samaritans", god himself is not a good samaritan.
in the parable by jesus, a traveler is left beaten and robbed on the side of the road.

There is no end of the rationalizations, the excusing of God's failings by true believers.
I'm not so sure I even believe in God. Since I am not sure s/he exists, I don't dwell on her/his "failings." I just use the writings of the three Abrahamic traditions to help make me a better person, which leaves me less "Pistoff"...pun intended. :)

I would have to say, so how's that seem to be workin out?
There is definitely room for improvement, Booby. Who did you help today? A question we all can, and should, ask.

"Sufis [a Muslim sect] tell the story of a saintly man who travels through many countries and is deeply affected by the poverty, pain, and injustices he witnesses. One day, when he sees yet another poor, starving, orphan child covered with sores and shivering in the cold, the man breaks down and cries out, "God! How can you allow this misery? I beseech you, please do something!" The answer is silence, but that night God appears in a vision and says to the man, "Beloved one, I did do something. I created you."

Letter By Native Chief Seattle Should Make BP/American Leaders Ashamed
by flipper inthis letter was written to president pierce in 1855 by native american chief seattle of the dwamish tribe in washington state.
the dignity, wisdom, and strong message he sent then to the united states leader - is actually sounding like a fulfilled prophecy at this time with the gulf oil spill destroying our lands and oceans.
heres the link : http://www.context.org/iclib/ico3/seattle.htm.

You will probably enjoy this too Flipper.
...the 7th generation Native American prophecy:
The prophecy of the Seventh Generation is common to many American Indian nations. Young native people, especially young Mohawk people, should pay attention to and consider.
According to the prophecy, after seven generations of living in close contact with the Europeans, the Onkwehonwe would see the day when the elm trees would die. The prophecy said that animals would be born strange and deformed, their limbs twisted out of shape. Huge stone monsters would tear open the face of the earth. The rivers would burn aflame. The air would burn the eyes of man. According to the prophecy of the Seventh Generation the Onkwehonwe would see the day when birds would fall from the sky, the fish would die in the water, and man would grow ashamed of the way that he had treated his mother and provider, the Earth. -

she was deceived into believing that her religion was changing and modernizing when it wasn't.
I don't know that you have enough information to make this assertion. A guy attacks and kills his wife when she files for divorce (the specific moment when most women in the US are killed by their abusers), and it allows you to determine where billions of people are or are not spiritually.
..interesting, and very broad, conclusion to draw from a single event. :) Now I understand why I was unable to discern your point.
